Day Packaging -- Celebrating 80 Years of Service
Day Packaging (formerly Day Manufacturing Company) was founded in Sherman, Texas by Luther Day in 1927. The company's earliest customers were the leading department stores in the Dallas area. Ladies' round hat boxes were an early specialty product. Day gradually converted from the early rigid box designs to the current folding cartons.

In 1965 the Day family sold Day Manufacturing Company to five local businessmen. The new management rapidly moved to printed folding cartons and added new technology to old-fashioned craftsmanship. In 1969 Day Manufacturing moved to a new location north of Sherman, Texas.
In 1985 the assets and name of Day Manufacturing Company were purchased by Washington Iron Works, Inc., Wally Totten and Curry Vogelsang.

DMC was relocated to its present location in late 1986. Beginning in 1994 DMC began an aggressive capital plan to upgrade equipment and technology to position itself as a quality and capability leader in our market.

This goal of growth and development is dependent on all of us working together for this common purpose. . .and reward.
